Which non-lead bullet for my 308 for deer. Not interested in lead for hunting bullets.

150 gr Nosler E-Tip or 150 gr Hornady GMX or 150 gr Barnes TTSX

I will be loading for a bolt action varmint barreled savage and a short barreled AR10.

I am interested in results and experience with the three bullets.

thanks

As far as which bullet, you'll have to find out which one your rifle prefers.

I've shot several animals with E-tips and a couple with Barnes TSX. They both performed like they should have, but then I also did my job and placed the bullet well.

I am biased towards the Nosler E-Tip.
Load the E-Tip .100" off the lands for starters.

I have a buddy that loads the 168 Barnes TSX on his 308. Killed several deer with it at long range. I can't remember how many grains of H4895 he use though. He switched to 165 when Barnes came out with it. It has higher B.C than the 168.

Me to, the only reason I used the Barnes was Nosler didn't have any E-Tips out in that caliber yet.
