Have been a great fan of Nosler PT and recently AB. Inherited a bunch of older Solid Base ballistic-tips in 150, 165, and 180G. Can someone tell me the skinny on these. Deer bullet?

I found the old 150 gr solid base very accurate in my `06 and it worked well on whitetail around here. I never recovered one and kills were as quick as with any other bullet. The 140 7mm appeared to be a clone to the 150 30 cal. It was my bullet of choice in my first 7-08 when they were still available.

This is a great bullet!

I really don't think you could ask for anything more from this design. I dropped a 165 pound Whitetail last season at 200 yards with a 7mm-08 140 grain. The bullet entered the neck and had retained 71% of it's weight and mushroomed to about the size of a nickel. I have never lost any game using this bullet and found it to be very accurate.

My two cents....

Enjoy!
