Pepsi and deer

My wife said she saw this on TV. They soak venison in Pepsi. Is this to pull out the blood? Make it tender? Anybody uses this method?

Never tried it, Russ. However, being a loyal Coke drinker, I'd have to go with Coke (which is used in cake and for making chicken).

Humm. Don't want to use good venison if it comes out funky. I shall mull over this.

I wouldn't use a Pepsi product for anything. They are trying to take our guns away. They are on the same list as the Democrats, AARP, The Pepsi Bottling Company, Ect.

I think that the acid in the soda helps to break down connective tissue. I have had skirt steak that was marinaded in pepsi or coke can't remember which, but I did not care for it. When marinading meat over night, I like to soak it in beer and then apply a dry rub 8). I am not into sweet tasting meat. I like the spice :twisted:
