Picked Up A Very Nice Rifle Today

I have added a classic scope to go with my classic rifle.
A Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 Ballistic Reticle scope.
They both seem to go together like bread and butter.

Model 70 Classic rifles were made in New Heaven, CT from ~1994 to ~2006. I have a few in Stainless Synthetic Boss. You might be able to find more information with he specific model. Calling Winchester might work

I spoke with Winchester Parts department at 800-322-4626 last week and a gentleman there told me they have records of the New Haven serial numbers. He asked for the serial number and I told him. He could tell from the serial number it was a left handed Classic in 7mmRM and it was made in 1999. My serial number is in the G382xxx range. My suggestion is to call that number and ask the question.

Well....it looks like the only ammo available in my area is 150 gr Winchester, Federal, and Remington factory ammo. I've been buying 7mm Hornady bullets, because I have a .280 Remington as well.
I've been buying Hornady 139 gr Interlock Boat tail bullets, 139 gr SST bullets, and 162 gr SST bullets. I believe I am set for both, now.
After I blast off the factory ammo, I will roll my own with the Winchester and Remington factory ammo I bought, and I got 10 rds of Federal ammo to go with my deal.

Nice Rifle and should serve you well.
Thank you! I'm pretty sure it will serve me well too.
I'm looking highly forward to seeing how it does in accuracy, and in the field.

I know everyone out there has been sitting on the edge of their seats just waiting to hear when my Model 70 was manufactured.
So here it goes....
1994!
From what I've learned, Winchester made the Classic Sporter and other more expensive ones with aluminum pillar bedding, and glass bedding the actions.
Apparently, they wanted them to be a more accurate hunting tool.
