Had this above my Reloading Bench for years when I was shooting my old German 300 WBY. I was on my second WBY barrel when I sold it. I figure I would share it before it goes into the trash.

I can't imagine stuffing 86 grains of 7828 into a 300 Weatherby case with a 180-grain bullet.
All of the ones here shoot 81.5-82.5 grains, and by 83.5-84 there are stiff bolts and it's at max.

That’s some good info RL338 especially the MRP max load in the 340 with 250 NP.
Loved those Norma powders especially MRP in the 300 and 340 wby but the powder was very hard to get. RL 22 was as close as I could get to MRP. At times and still do wish I had a boat full of R123/N202/MRP…….black gold .

My old 300 WBY, 24" barrel, 12 twsit, loves IMR4350 with 180 BT or AB
Yes I had German Wby also with the 1/12
Only the short 180 Nosler Part Protected Point would stabilized and yes IMR 4350 was my powder also in 300 WBY.
Shot that rifle so much the throat was gone had it re barreled by WBY with a 1/10 in 26”. I still have old WBY brass in my reloading brass.

I still have mine, retired it from Hunting, its all original with a "Weatherby" scope, tang safety. It was my first rifle. Shoots 1/2" @100 with IMR4350 and 180 Nosler BT or AB

Yes I had the old German wby scope if I remember it was 2.5x8 power in Buehler scope rings and base it was 1960’s production rifle with a beautiful blonde stock. It’s somewhere in Alaska still hunting . The man that bought it I made him promise not to put a brake on it .
That one heck of a good first rifle ! Yes I had a Weatherby moment in my life that lasted about 20 years with the 300 wby and a short time and with the 340 wby.
I know one man in Rampart Village Alaska on the Yukon River a Swede that bought a new Weatherby back in the early 60’s a 300 wby like ours………and he would always say “are they anything better than a 300 Weatherby “ he is long gone now his grandson inherited that well used rifle. I will always hold a special place in my heart for a Deluxe Mark 5 in 300 WBY and a empty slot in the safe.

I even have a set of orginal Weatherby Dies for the 300 WBY in mint condition with instruction booklet and box.
I have the older chrome style set of dies for my 300 Wby and they were well ahead of the times. The only thing that irked me was the double nut die lock.
