25-06: Do you use your bipod to shoot from the prone or sitting? I need to put one on my 308.

YS- I use it for both, but primarily for prone. thats where I'm the steadiest and my groups are best. Sitting is about half as steady as laying down. The terrain usually decides if I can lay down or sit down, but where I hunt, which is flat country for deer and coyotes, and canyons for elk, I can usually 90% of the time lay down. There have been a few instances where I've been on a slopy hillside and I've had to sit down and use them, thats a little tricky and not near as steady. I have 2 bipods, the BR one thats used for bench shooting or prone shooting, and then the one that goes up to like 25" or so for sitting. I rarely use the small one as I cant always be sure I'll get a prone shot, so I pack the bigger one. I just switch the bipod to whatever rifle I'm using. Cheaper then buying $80 bipods for every gun.
