I always liked the looks of the screw-turned Nosler Partitions, especially after I shot my first Rocky Mountain mule deer in Idaho in 19(mumble). I think I still have some .375/300gr and .284/160gr. jim

I started reloading with a Lee hand unit in .30-'06 in 19 (mumble), slow but they shot well and I could have 165 gr loads which were not available in those days. Later I got a RCBS Rock Chucker that I could clamp to a small folding table from a rumage sale that lived in a closet. jim

I shot the 130 gr VLD 130 gr from my 6.5-'06 on a Wyoming antelope hunt. These bullets hit hard, at least they did for me on speed goats. Accurate too with MRP but I didn't chrono the load. jim

I have shot it now in my .500 inline and my .451 side hammer, works well with #11 caps and cleans up with one patch (not much residue). I got an email this morning from Alliant and they are working with the DOT now on shipping approval, they expect summer availability of Black Dot. Meanwhile...

I shot some of the BlackMag XP last week, and it is extremely clean burning, almost no residue at all. I asked Alliant when they would have Black Dot in their pipeline, but no answer yet...jim

I have some Barnes Original .264/165 gr Semi-Spitzers, I don't know of anything heavier. Norma sells several 156 gr bullets too. I thought Nosler was using the Wiseman barrels in the NCRs...jim

Unfortunately many of these companies sell untested products. If the US FDA catches up with them, they drop the product and come up with another one. They never seem to have any peer-reviewed science showing the effectiveness of their stuff, and the plural of anecdote is not data. ;) jim
