I do chamfer the inside of the mouth, etc., but it sounds like with Nickel I need to get a little more aggressive! :grin: I use a RCBS tool now, but like the looks of that Lyman one. Thanks for all of the help!!

Loaded another 20 tonight using the same box of AB's but with "normal" brass vs. the nickel, no problems. Weird indeed. I'm very thorough on my steps, wondering if I goofed something along the way. Can't think of what, I'm puzzled.

Wouldn't H4831sc be the same as H4831? I've always thought they were cut shorter for metering, yet the loads didn't change? I don't use SC, so I'm not familiar with it, etc.

147 grain - great stuff on the reactions! Those are generally true with most animals. Elk tend to throw the wrench in there because they are so large. I would add to wait even longer than you might imagine on liver or gut shot animals. I hunt with a Biologist (plus adding in 30+ elk and 20+...

Probably depends on geographic area and species in your area, etc. I would think lower cal/grain bullets proabably sell better in whitetail country vs say elk country? Who knows. Still, the 7mm is one of the most popular guns of all time, behind the good ol' 30-06. Just curious, where you...

You are more than safe. I've hunted elk all my life and my favorite round is a 7mm 160 gr bullet. With a bonded bullet like an AB, you will be fine about anywhere you place it. Others, I wouldn't take the chance, especially at greater distances. Bottomline is you will be fine with a 160 gr...
