2024 Hunting Season

Fox squirrel; Winchester 73 45 colt; 300grain cast bullet.
Excellent! Your season is off to a gran start! Consequently, I have barked a good number of squirrels with my Model 94 .356 Win. They do drop pretty convincingly.

Sue and I got our spring turkeys this year with the help of Howie's box call. It was a fun season with a lot of action, including a close encounter with a bobcat. I kissed him into 20 feet.

Just got home from the butcher with pepperoni, bratwurst, smokies, and breakfast sausage from a fine bruin. Delightful meals in the future.
Delightful indeed Mike. Bear is one of my favorites!

Got my other bear tag filled out. Not a big bear by any means but a good meat bear. VZ 24 8x57 with 170gr Speer SP at 2600 fps did the trick.

Wouldn't call it hunting, but I have been doing some close range pd shooting, with several specialty pistols: 223 Remington, 6.5-284, 6 GT, and the 221 FBI.
Most shots have been under 350 yards, with the majority under 225 yards.
Once of several doubles with the 221 FBI.
