The barrel is finished in carbon fibre. I really don't have an opinion on these barrels. I do trust the fellows that make these rifles, however. They are prepared to do what the customer wants, but they would never turn something out that was not top-flight. I'll give a review after I've punched some paper with this one.

Don, I hope it shoots well. I don't want to spend a lot of time on it. I have another 338 RUM coming shortly for load development.

Jim, If I can make this deliver anywhere near as well as yours delivers, I'll be satisfied.

Cool rig! What does it weigh in at? What kind of loads for this rifle?

I'm doing load development now. The owner is focused on using 225 grain TSX bullets. We'll see what it does after building a few loads.

Is your assessment of the Huskemaw optics the same as it was in earlier posts?

The Blue Diamond is a better scope than the earlier models. I still hold to my assessment when compared to Swarovski, Leica or Zeiss. I still consider the Leupold VX6 and even the VX3 to be superior at the range. It will likely be some time before I get to comparing at first light as it is now light at about 4 a.m. here.
