Remington M673 Guide 6.5 mm Rem Mag.

I am going to mount a Vari-X III 2.5-8x36mm with M1 dials on the rifle which will allow me to dial up.
Quick Load predicts a 125 gr PT at close to 3100 fps, making it a flat shooting round with plenty of penetration.
I am thinking the 120 gr BT should be well over 3100 fps and just aboout perfect for speed goats.
This should be a fun project!

Looks like RL22 does pretty decent with the 6.5RM also. Heck, the speeds listed in QL were 100FPS faster than the 264WM 125gr PT Nosler Custom Ammo I received. That is a sweet little rifle. Can't wait to see how it looks all set up Jim. Scotty

True enough! That will be a sweet 6.5. Can't imagine a handier rifle for hunting in and out of blinds, trees or just walking through timber and such. Lot of performance in a smaller package. Scotty

JD, a TMR reticle would be a great asset to the 2.5x8 for those shots where you would dial up but will save ya time.

I loaded one up with a 120 gr BT and a 125 gr PT. Its a pretty cool little round.

Congratulations on a great find Jim. Those rifles seemed to be a love/hate affair, with not much in the middle, but I find them pretty intriguing. Remington killed them off far too soon. Lots of authority in a pretty quick-handling package.
