Well it's time  ..my gear is all packed, and the .375 H&H is ready for some European wildboar in Quebec, I won't be shooting any "premium" bullets for this hunt, but just "plain jane" Federal power shok 300gr SP's for these 150-175lb boars. Heading out tomorrow, I well give a detailed report sometime Sunday night

Lou

I need to get over to Texas and give hog hunting a try.
Just need to find the time.
Good luck Lou.
Being that wild hog is not like farm raised bacon how do you like to prepare your hog? Mostly sausage or some other way?

Here's wishing you every success, Lou. The "Plain Jane" Power Shok will undoubtedly be more than adequate for the boars.

Good luck on your hunt Lou, make sure that new Bavarian comes back with some kills to it's credit.

Hope you have much success. Those pigs are tough and that 375 should be able to handle the task. Hopefully you will be able to recover some of those bullet to show us. We must have lots of pictures.

Dang, I'm excited and I'm not even going!

Enjoy your hunt. I'm looking forward to the report!

Lou i would only use those Premium 300 gr Partitions or Accubonds on those HOGS - they deserve it !  RJ

BAR THE DOOR!!!!

You mean to tell me that Lou is going after these wild porcine critters with nothing more than a .375 Hurt & Hemorrhage?
Good Lord and sweet Josephine that's only a Prairie Dog caliber and not sufficient enough to knock the air out of a balloon at 70 Yards. Be careful mate. You are in more danger than a bedbug at an Orkin convention.

Well I am quite sure that good shot placement will make up for the slight under power !
Lou all kidding aside get a little blood on that new rifle  please remember this flatlander sure wouldn't mind a photo or 2!!!
Have Fun,Shoot straight & be Safe!!

Blessings,
Dan

Well, all went well :) ..The weather was great for a Sunday hunt, and the country on the reserve was just like being in Europe too 8) ..we had a great day going 4 for 4, man these little buggers are surely a challenge, and fun to hunt!.Even in the deep snow in heavy cover, they sure can move very fast, and very hard to sneak in a good shot through the heavy stuff. It was a lot of fun, and we really have some excellent meat from these 130-140lb boars. I shot mine at about 75yds, the impact pretty much blew the boar skywards, DRT!

Some pics to follow  ..Having tenderloin tonight  ..the rest well be chops, cuttlets and Italian sausage :)

Lou

Here's my 135lb boar after being hit like a freight train

The BIG exit hole

Phillipe doing the skinning

We then had some tenderloin on the BBQ, outstanding!

 ..Make that the 4th Jim  ..I used the 300gr Federal soft points (blue box)..I use these for blasting at the range mostly, same POI as the swift-Aframes pal.

My .375 really likes the swift-Aframes, and so do I :) ..It well be my go to bullet for the BIG stuff
Lou

Nicely done Lou, congratulations.
The 37& H&H did the job.
