2012 Bullet Wish List

This is kind of a offshoot of jmad_81 but I'd like to see Accubonds in a VLD style and heavy for caliber bullets from 7mm to .416 (probably never see the .416's but you can always hope). A lot of guys shoot them to medium range already for hunting. Something similar to a Amax but bonded.
175-190gr 7mm
210-230gr .30
275-300gr .338
300-350gr .375
375-425gr .416

It could be a whole new product line. Call them the AccuBond LR's. Then we'd have actual hunting bullets instead of target bullets modified to hunting. The super long range guys would still use VLD's but the guys that are happy out to 1000yds or less would have another great bullet to pick from.

I knew someone was going to add the 6.5 and 6mm :grin: . I don't hunt anything with the 6mm's except rockchucks and I've never been a big 6.5mm fan even though I've built a 6.5-.284 and .264 Win Mag. over the years.

Scotty I do believe this gentleman needs a 264 of some type again, and to knock off a huge antelope buck or mule deer buck with his 6mm loaded with some of those NEW 90 gr. Nosler Accubonds that they have promised for a couple years now!!! That 6mm Remington is a THUNDER-STICK! :mrgreen:

I do still have my 6.5-284 barrel and another 6.5 Bartlein barrel in the safe I was going to build a 6.5 STW out of. I have the reamer even. I just cant bring myself to chamber it. IMO a 7mm or bigger will do anything a 6.5mm will do only better. I have a reamer for a 6mm-300WSM too but decided to build a .243 AI instead with the last barrel so I could use Lapua brass. I had my buddy take the .243 AI out after it was done and he shot a .234" group with it. I still haven't shot it. I already have 2 6mm's and 2 6BR's I shoot rockchucks with.

I like Wildgene's idea of a 220grain 8mm bullet either a Partition or AccuBond. They would be top notch in the 8mm Rem Mag and 325 WSM...makes me want to get another 8mm Rem Mag so I could shoot said bullet.

Also a 300 grain Partition for 45-70 would be great as well as a 265 grain Partition for 444 Marlin.

.458 (300-350-400gr) Partition/AB for the 45-70. I would prefer the 350 or heck, just bring back the old 300gr PT, and there isn't a suitable bullet in the Nosler selection for heavy game with the 45-70. Scotty

And that's why I got into casting my own Scotty.
I would have been ok with what was available for the .454 Casull, until I got the Marlin.
A 350 gr Partiton would be a fair compromise for the 45-70, for most big game animals.
However, I would prefer a bit momentum after expansion, on say something like the bigger bears.
The 500 NP would work for me, if it would work at terminal velocities down to the 11-1200 fps range, but I'm thinking that isnt the case. Hence, I think 400 gr. FP NP would be a good all around weight. But I'm sure it's a limited market also.
Guess I'll just stay with the 405-425 grainers and the the 465-470 heavier weights in cast.
But I would lay in a supply of NP's if they came, regardless. Just never what the future holds.

Randy, I was just getting here to type that exact same thing. Heck, the Whelen wouldn't hurt to have a slick 250gr AB. I'm very happy with the 250 PT at 2650 but the higher BC of an AB would help stretch it a little more. Plus, anything 358 is good for me! Scotty
