It is difficult not to be excited by how the accuracy pulled tight as you seated the bullet deeper. That 3.290 inch load is just awesome. That has to be a hurting on about anything you would shoot with that load. Excellent stuff, Scotty.

Yeah, I was simply blown away Mike. It really goes to show you shouldn't give up on a bullet till you run it all the way to the extremes. The AB's seem to really be teaching me this lesson in spades lately. Not sure why they like so much jump out of my rifles, but I am not complaining. I have some annealing to do, but will be loading up some more to retest, but I feel pretty confident that load will repeat.

That 3.29" load is looking very nice, just over 1 " at 200 yards is very good. Talk about a long range hammer for big stuff 8) Now maybe a 250 gr PT or 270 gr North Fork would be good to play with in case grizzlies start showing up in North Virginia :)

Yeah, I need to call Northfork and see what they recommend for their bullets. I only have 20 of them, so I think I can work close to a decent powder charge, just need a heads up on the most used seating depth.

This baby just turned a serious corner in my eyes..

Looks like you found a winner there Scotty. Good shooting. That is one heck of a little azz kicker you got there.

I will have to reexamine the 200 grain AB in my 300 WSM. The real problem there is intrusion into the shorter powder column. I don't suppose this is an insurmountable problem, but it would be problematic. Nevertheless, since I can get 200 grain PTs and 200 grain GKs to shoot so well, it would be nice to actually see the 200 grain AB delivering the goods as well.

Awesome shooting. That load at 3.29" is something to be proud of. Good job all around on your part.

Looking good Scotty. Persistence pays off once again.
You have yourself a serious elk hammer.

Guys, I can't tell you how happy I am. I don't wanna say too much more till I retest, but I am 99% sure it'll reshoot the same or at least similar. It is pretty lively off the bench, but not too bad. The rifle has a little weight to it. I haven't weighed it scoped yet, but I think it was 7lb's 6 ounces bare rifle. I imagine it'll go nearly 9 all kitted out.

It carries well and I am beginning to really like the shorter spout. It has plenty of weight on the front of it to settle nicely. It'll really come into it's own with some more X's on the scope. Even now, the old Nikon is doing a great job.

Scotty 1" MOA at 200 yards is excellent. That 35 Newton will really bring home the game!! Getting hit with those 225gr. ABs. will be like getting hit by a Mack truck.
Good job, as usual your perseverance has paid off.

Blessings,
Dan

Scotty, That is looking good I was wondering if the rebored barrel was going to shoot or be a paper weight .
Cameraland NY has a sale on Steiner Scopes and have a really nice 2-10 with a range finder reticule that looks like even I could live with for under $800.
