I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind posting some picture of your antelope rifles as well as what caliber its chambered in :?:
I am still undecisive about what i want to get for my hunt in October :? [/b]

When I go, this will be the rifle I take-

M700 Action Blueprinted
Hart #5 Fluted 24", chambered in 280 AI
Remington LSS stock, Pillar bedded
Leupold Mark 4 4.5x14 PR with M1 dials
Preferred load uses a 160 gr AB.

Well I have used a dozen different rifles from the 6mm rem to the 416 Wby mag. Now I use (95% of the time) the 25-06 Tactical (savage) or my Savage 111f 7mm rem mag.

No pictures though but they look like this.

25-06

7mm mag

The 7mm mag does 160 AB at 3085 fps and about .6 or so.

The 25-06 did 100 gr BT at 3400 fps at .055"!

Not lookers but great shooters.

Darn I cant find a picture of just the rifle. :) Heres my 2006 pic of goat and rifle. It is an FN Mauser comercial, barreled in 250-3000 Savage. Home made stock. nothing special but got the job done at 264 yds. One Nosler 100 grn BT. CL My appologies to all who have seen it before. Still looks OK to me!! :)

Not a very good picture of my rifle either but it is a Parker Hale .270 Win with 3-12X40 Bushnell Sportview scope. I keep swearing that I'll upgrade the scope someday but the thing shoots so well, I'm afraid to fix it. 130 grain bullets at 3100 fps have been devastating on plains deer and pronghorn for me. Best $300 I've ever spent was purchasing this rifle in 2003.

It doesn't take a big caliber of fancy rifle to hunt pronghorn. Just one that you have confidence in. My .270 may look a little worse for wear but I trust it to put a bullet where I'm aiming every time, as long as I'm doing my part.

This years rifle for pronghorn will either by a 6.5X55 Kimber sporter or a .25-06 built on a Zastava action. It is looking more and more like the 6.5X55 is the one I'm going to use though.

After this year, I'll have 8 points for Lopes... we've actually been hunting them in the past during Archery season.... I'd post of pic of the Hoyt, but you did say guns... We may change our minds in the next year or two when we get serious about drawing a tag and go rifle.....
First go to choice would be the Rem 700 .260 with a 25in Lilja Barrel...Second choice and it would definatly make the trip would be the .300RUM Rem Sendero....

Same hunt - same rifle - different quarry.

Not exactly a dedicated antelope gun but it works well.
