There goes another 4500 fps club member.........

Start with good components and you will end up with good results. A great start.

Ha ha, actually my last middlested had a 1-14 twist and I ran a 55g ballistic tip right at 4000 absolutely flattened deer but raised hell on coyote pelts, it was great for making steering wheel covers though. This one I went with a 1-8 lilja navy tactical same barrel I have on my 30-338 win. I should get around 3500 fps with an 80g amax or berger vld. So in other words the bc of a 30 cal 168g bthp but doing 3500 should be just nifty.

Details, details... is that a Mickey A3 Sporter? What is the action? SS or repeater?

I always wanted one of those. I bought a Rem 700 in a .243 for $350 bucks when I was in high school to build one on. Then I discovered what the 55 BT at 4000 fps would do and never did build it. I think it really shines in the heavy .224 bullets. That sould be a ton of fun!

The action is a bat machine repeater right bolt left port 20 moa bat rail. I am using a wyatts detachable box magazine system five round straight stack magazine The stock is a mcmillan A3 sporter in arctic camo. Trigger jewel. Rings tps. Nightforce 5.5-22x50 nxs NPR-2 reticle "I think I may put that on my 30-338 and use the 3.5-15x56 nxs that's on that on this. Barrel is a lilja 1-8 navy tactical finished at 27" harris bipod and battleship gray cerakote on barrel and action.

Isn't the 22-243 Middlestead a 6mm Remington necked down? They should call it a 22-6mm Middlestead!
no its a 243 case longer neck 30 degree shoulder and taper blown out.. The 22 tth is a 6mm case I believe

I stand corrected and you are correct. The TTH stands for Texas Trophy Hunter's I believe as some guys there in Texas started necking the 6mm down to .22 to shoot deer with. It was the long...........................neck that a 243 does not have that fooled me in the picture!!

That is going to be a nice rifle for sure. Post pictures when you get her put together.

David

You are referring to the 224 TTH, a populat wildcat that is used in Texas for deer hunting.

Yeah that is a neat one also you would need to run a long action on that I think to get the true potential out of it. Kind of like the 6.5-284 case, I used a long action on my 6.5-284. Another good one is a 6mm rem improved, I had several years ago but again unless your running a single shot short action or a long action you won't get the potential out of it.

Im really interested in one of these as well set up with the 75 and 80g amax in mind, there we go again with the amaxs, :)

Think it would be sweet for a good 600 yard coyote rifle.

Here are some of Jeff's other builds. Scotty

You aren't kidding about that! He does put them together the right way, that is for sure. Scotty

So, Jeff likes standing off and shooting at a distance? Some serious looking weaponry there, that's for sure.
