I have a few 1911's, a norinco, colt, & para ordnance to be exact. The norinco shots as any 1911 i have ever shot & better than my colt. maybe i have one of the good ones I'm not sure. I would by another one if the oppertunity came up, especially for under $300 & take my chances.

I have one with the black stock. It is a shooter, my best groups so far has been .353" @ 100 yards with Sierra 168gr SMK's.

That was the total difference. I was shooting factory Hornady 168gr Amax match ammo. The rifles were a Rem 700 PSS 26" barrel & a Rem 700P LTR 20" barrel. I am pretty sure that you could have a bigger difference with different powders, but I have not tried that myself yet.

I tested the difference between a 308 with a 20" barrel & one with a 26" barrel. Using the same box of ammo in both rifles. The velocity difference was about 45fps.

Yep, dreamed it up! I looked again last night, the only 180gr listing was a pistol bullet. I think that a 180 or 200 gr Accubond would go over well.

Does Nosler make a 180 grain 35 caliber Accubond? I thought that I seen it listed in the # 6 manual last night, but I have not seen it on the website. Did I dream this bullet up?

I think that a Rem 700 VLS in 6MM Remington would be a good varmint rig to meet your criteria.

Try some of the Remington 17 in it. That worked the best in mine.

Mike I have had the pleasure of shooting a S&W 1911. It functioned perfectly. The sights seemed to impact a little low to me, but that is easily fixed either with adjustment or possibly different ammo.
