2013 Hunting Pictures

That Colorado mulie is what I was looking for up in the mountains yesterday... Didn't work out for me. I didn't know he'd moved to the Colorado suburbs!

Maybe you should take that monster with your bow, very quietly, early one morning...and then move to another neighborhood before the taxidermist gets done with the mount so the neighbors won't see him!

Devious! Very devious! It just might work.

So unfortunatly this brute could not be taken due to the fact he lives in my neighborhood but a guy can dream can't he!

Wowzers! What a buck! Man I was there over the last weekend and sure didn't see him!

End of moose season

That could almost pass for Alaska! You just want to make all the flatlanders feel badly.

Congratulations on the Bull Dr. Mike! Excellent work! My father has a bull tag in October that I will be joining him for, I hope we can fill the freezer just as you did!

Man, I have not been able to go hunting for the past four years! Just been a spectator! It's driving me nuts. People at work keep telling me I need to go to the doctor because of a twitch I keep having! Little do they know it's a twitch I get every time I look at the Nosler hunting photo's forum!

We're all pulling for you, wishing you every success. I understand the twitch. I get it bad at times.

That looks to have been a dandy hunt; some fine eating with that bag.

DrMike, That's some really thick grass hay you're standing in..... with that kind of feed, I'll bet he'll taste better then he looks!

Cole,

It has been a perfect year for producing feed for the animals. Yes, he was almost lost in the grass (mixed with sweet clover and alfalfa). All the pipelines, cut lines, etc. are seeded with alfalfa and/or sweet clover and timothy; and the wind has ensured that all the surrounding areas is equally well seeded. Consequently, the animals have ample feed. Yes, this fellow does taste very fine. He had only begun to rut and still had a good fat layer on him.

Got out on the hogs again this morning. I shot two decent shootable boars and two cull sows. No record breakers though.

Was using the 270 Win with 150g SSTs doing a bit over 2900 on the above fellow.

I seem to have lost the photo of the other boar, but there's a couple little sows below for your viewing...

By the time I got to the last one I was out of my SSTs and used a 130g Hotcor on a Texas heart shot. I am trying to burn through some miscellaneous handloads before rationalising my load development in the 270 as I have a good stash of Partitions to use for the future.

Then I had a great session on the chrony shooting over the tailgate of the truck to evaluate some handloads in both the 270 and the 30-06. Gathered some great data too.

All in all a great Sunday out!

Those oinkers don't look as if they enjoyed the loads you are using. Good show, Bob.

Second time out , this time with a buddy up from Calgary . A beautiful morning and a few birds co-operated. Ruger was in good form.

Awesome huntin' truck super7!

No bullet recoveries on the hogs. The SSTs went through and the Texas heart-shot pig was too messy to go digging around in there!

Ya it's a beast of a truck, it's a dedicated goose machine as the decoys and blinds stay in it all year around. It's my dads ol farm truck an 81' chev 3/4 ton, I revived the original 350, put a clutch in it and a quick spray bomb by my niece and nephew . It's great not having to load and unload every week end to hunt. We got the trailer for extra lay down blinds and it has another 8 dozen dekes in it. So if we get large groups we can split up and hunt 2 fields .
I like the idea of hunting feral hogs all year long, you have a target rich environment over there.
