358 win. loads please

sp now that i finally made my mind up on which cartrige anyone have any good recipies for me and the 250gr Partition? I have alot of these on hand as that is what I load for my fathers whelen. I currently have RL15, RL 17 and IMR4064, but am not limited to any of these

Same here, W748 works really well in my 358 with 225's and 250's. 225's run about 2450 and the 250's are around 2300 or so.

IMR4895 and IMR4064 have each worked well for me over the years. W748 is a standard that has not let me down on any of the 358s for which I've loaded.

I read an article somewhere(of course I can't find it now) about TAC in the 358. But when i went to the website they had no 358 loads. anyone have any experience or a link to an article. I think it was by written by Barness but I'm not sure or that

I think you want to use only round nosed 250gr bullet in the 358win to get proper bullet expantion. And check out actaul velocities at the distances you plan to use them at. The 225 gr bullets work great and are most likely all you would ever need in the 358win.

Powders I have heard great this about are TAC, H4895, 748, and VV133. As for bullets I think the 225gr Partition is tops and the AccuBond if you have the OCL needed for the AB. The 220gr speer is cheap and preforms well. There are the Hawk bullets I have used the 225gr RT.030" jacket and it worked great on a WT buck. All these will work fine on elk and moose thu I might go with a .035" jacket with the Hawk for elk and moose.

What rifle do you have in the 358win? Thats what limits your OCL. Search on bullets 358win posts for information on the 225grAB in his ruger.

My pick for my REM700SA 358win is the Partition and H4895 gets me 2430fps at listed max loads and normal pressures. I would love a 2550fps load that is safe for my bolt rifle. Reason being its puts 300 yards as a resonable max distance with no quams about its effectiveness.
