Some rifles, like both my 338 Jarrett and my anchient ruger 06 love partitions. 1/2 -3/4 moa for decades. Wouldn’t shoot at elk that far with my 06 but have killed a couple right at 5, my personal never go beyond limit, with partitions Via the 338 Jarrett. Life for me is simple Partitions, Accubonds or sometimes Ballistic tips. If it won’t shoot those I sell it.
Now there's a full sized mount even the most prejudiced of wives will still allow in any room in the house!

Sue and I doubled up last night with a couple of bucks. I'm calling this the "Broken Hearts Hunt".
Sue got her 6 pt at 130 yards with her Nosler M48 Mountain Carbon 30 Nosler with a 180 gr AB, DRT. I shot an 8 pt at 230 yards with my 338 RUM and a 250 gr AB. He went about 50 yards. Both were heart shots.

We use partitions in all our rifles, 243,270,30-06, 300’s, & 375 H&H.
I do have some A frames to try in 375 & 458. Although I have never had any issue with the partitions. I guess I’m too old and set in my ways to try to fix something that’s not broken as far as I’m concerned.

S&W 586 4” 357 magnum.
Congratulations on taking a deer with an open sight revolver. It is a lot like bow hunting, needing to have the deer come in close enough for a shot. It is a challenge for sure.

Thanks. It's a little hard to see in the photo but I do have a non magnified red dot sight on this one. Even so with my skill level (or lack there of) still very much like bow hunting.

Congratulations, Bruce. I'd love to have hunted with a wheel gun, but here in the socialist paradise of the north, we have a guvmint that is scared of citizens that have a handgun.
